HOOKERS

2009 June 26

I’ve always heard that in this great big world we live in there is a place for everyone to feel loved and wanted.   A place to call “Home”. I found the place that Hookers actually call home.  They are proud to be Hookers and have built an entire little community to live together in.  Don’t believe me, do you?  Well, how do you explain this…

I’m pretty sure this water tower was put up to warn outsiders that these Hookers are not to be messed with.  Now they definitely want some law and order in their town because I saw this right outside the Hooker City Hall.

DSC_0245I’m pretty sure they get to ride in the front seat of this car instead of the back seat.  Of course, as in any town, you have to work hard at making sure your residents are happy and healthy.  Hookers are no different.  They like to have a place to get and keep fit for their intense work schedules.

Hookers come in all shapes and sizes starting with the very youngest.  No one wants the young Hookers to be uneducated so they have the very best of schools available.

While I was strolling around town I heard a siren approaching.  I learned that a couple of Hookers had been injured at work.  Never fear, help was on the way quickly…………..
DSC_0246After making sure that the Hookers were all taken care of, I resumed my stroll through the community and what did my eyes behold…………..  Yes, Hookers of every age and skill level must have a few “tools of the trade”.  You know, those things that lift, pull, push, make things bigger (or  smaller if you prefer) and where else would you find those tools but at the DSC_0249Alas my time in this community of Hookers was drawing to a close.  I bid my friends goodbye and  headed back home.  Everyone needs a place to call home and I am so happy that  my Hooker friends have found their home.

** This story is not meant to be disparaging of anyone.  This community exists and I have some very good friends who live here.  They were the inspiration behind this post.  They lovingly refer to themselves as the “Hooker Girls”.  I love them!  Here’s to you…Hooker Girls!

I used to work at a company named Mahoney Group and we referred to ourselves as the MaHorney Girls. It’s a healthy thing to be able to laugh at ourselves. Kudos to the Hooker Girls and their sense of humor.

Too funny! What a name for a town…what a fun post!
It was fun to drive around and take the photos. No one seemed to even notice. I guess they are used to “tourists”.

Wait a minute…didn’t William Shatner once play a cop named T. J. Hooker? Not to change the subject but once as a child the word “hooker” showed up in conversation and my stepmonster thought they were talking about someone who made rugs. No lie. Hugs!

This is great! There was a General Hooker who had a lot to do with founding our town, and the named an oak tree after him, and subsequently a school after the oak tree. The oak tree was famous, because it was over 100 years old before they finaly had to chop it down because it was a danger to people. I mean, this thing was huge. And of course was called Hooker Oak. And the school was called Hooker Oak. I’ve lived here over 30 years and don’t think a thing about the name anymore…until I say it to someone who isn’t from here, and it reminds me that other people find that hysterically funny. :)
